HR Officer

Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Officer to join our growing People & Environment team in Barcelona (city center). The role will focus on ensuring that HR processes, payroll, and employee documentation are accurate, compliant, and aligned with local labour laws. The role will focus on daily HR administration and labour relations, primarily in Spain, with support for Italy, the UK and Ireland. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working with data and people, and is passionate about building strong HR foundations. You will play a key role in supporting payroll, employee relations, and HR systems, while also contributing to the development of our people policies and practices.  

Payroll and HR Admin 
  • Manage and process monthly payroll for Spain, ensuring accuracy and complicance with local regulations and collective agreements. 
  • Coordinate payroll and HR administration with external providers in Italy the UK, and Ireland.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle: contracts, amendments, onboarding and offboarding documentation. 
  • Monitor absences, vacations, travel allowances, and working time records. 
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure correct payrollreconciliation. 
Labour Relations 
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee relations and labour law matters in Spain. 
  • Manage disciplinary procedures, terminations, and employee claims in coordination with legal advisors. 
  • Ensure correct application of collective bargaining agreements and company policies. 
  • Support interactions with labour authorities, legal advisors and external lawyers. 
Compliance & Reporting  
  • Maintain employee files and ensure compliance with local labour and data protection laws. 
  • Prepare and support audits, inspections, and internal reporting. 
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality across all HR processes and our HRIS System.  
Your talent and knowledge
  • +5 years of experience in HR operations, payroll, or labour relations, ideally within an international or industrial environment. 
  • Strong knowledge of Spanish labour law and experience managing relationships with legal advisors and external payroll providers.
  • Practical experience handling contracts, terminations, and payroll cycles. 
  • Experience with HR systems and solid MS Officeskills .
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise in a fast-paced, evolving environment. 
  • Fluency in Spanish and very good English skills.
